| For the advanced player, feel free to skip down to the tables below, though I'll bet there are some details in this first note that even some advanced players will enjoy reading.
Each collection may be turned in at towns in multiple nations. Each collection mission gives a drink and a faction boost for the Trade Union of the nation that owned the town at the start of the map. If the town changes hands during a map, the faction reward for the mission doesn't change. Keeping your Trade Union faction above -500 is required if you wish to use that nation's Auction Houses. The best missions for increasing faction are Pendants, Gold or Jade. The # of faction points awarded is listed in the table, and should not be confused with the strength of the drink. Generally speaking, it seems that the effect of the drink is big when the faction reward is big. For example, the Jade drink (with its 32 points of faction) restores 12 points of health, while the Warriors drink (with its 14 points of faction) only restores 10 points of health.
To complete a collection mission, you must collect a number of similar items. In each case, the number you need is simply "all of them." The Masks collection, for example, only requires you to turn in 2 masks, which might lead you to wonder "which two?" There are only two collectible masks in the game, so you need both of them. If it exists, it is required.
The missions with large faction reward are highlighted with asterisks (*) to make them easily spotted.
The "Gemstones" collection requires "Pouches" of gemstones. The "Crucifix" collection requires "Cross" (1 gold cross, 1 silver cross)
The description of the drink can be misleading. It is best to refer to the chart below rather than the in-game description of a drink's effects. For example, one drink says it increases sword damage, when the actual effect is increased melee accuracy.
WARNING: There may be some small errors on the chart as to the exact amount of health guard or initiative restored for some drinks. This is because many of the drinks that give a "boost" to guard, initiative or health actually increase your regen rate by several points but only for a few seconds. I used a stop watch as best I could for these, averaging at least 2 runs, but extreme precision was impossible. Also, if you find the chart to be hard to read, try maximizing your browser.
STACKING DRINKS
The drinks that affect ship combat grappling do NOT stack. When both are in use, you just get the effect of the stronger drink. You can use the non-grappling drinks simultaneously with the grappling drinks with no penalty, however. Likewise, the drinks that affect Av Com stats only stack if they buff different stats. For example, the Blades collection and the Silver collection both give drinks that buff Melee Accuracy & Offense. If you use them simultaneously, you only get the effect from drinking one of them. So Matt & Toby's Tobacco Infused Vodka does NOT stack with Chateau Murchison Madeira. However you can stack Av Com drinks that buff different stats. For example, I was able to stack Marquess Misha's drink from the Earring collection with Reverend Tyne's drink from the Gemstone collection. Although they only overlapped for 30 seconds. One final example, Matt & Toby's drink when used overlapping with Shumate's First Mate's Rum gives you + 10 offense and +2 melee accuracy during the duration of overlap.
The Av Com drinks from collections all seem to be on the same cool down timer as each other. The drinks that buff Av Com stats last 1 minute, while drinks that restore lost guard, health or initiative last for 3 - 15 seconds. The cool down is 30 seconds long on every drink, so when one drink has been going for 30 seconds, you can start a new drink (or redo the first drink). If you redo the first drink, it doesn't stack with itself, you just restart the one minute duration timer. In general, it does seem possible to stack different drinks, although the most they can overlap is for 30 seconds, because they only last 60 seconds, and there is the 30 second cool down timer.
So far, the Av Com drinks from collections are stacking with the Av Com drinks from dailies, but I have more testing to do in this area.
If a drink says it boosts "speed," then it will boost the speed of movement in combat, i.e. running. The effect seems small. I'm guessing maybe 10% increase, at most.
The healing from Cannif Highland Scotch does NOT cut short the duration of Admiral Elbow's Old Tyme sour Mash.
Stinky Cheese (from Baye's Retreat) gives a guard boost that is on a separate cooldown timer from these drinks.

| Its nice to see a fellow POTBS scholar. Great work, my favorite fence loot exchange drinks are the ones that improve parry or dodge. The thing I hate about the % state increase for both ship and AVcom is the percentage is only applied to your base stat. For example if your base parry stat is 100 and you gain 11 parry points from mastercraft rapier making your total stat 111. Then you use the perfect parry skill to increase parry by +100%. You would think that after the math your stat would be increased to 222 especially since the +100% is applied after the +11 point increase...but no its only 211. I didn't realize this until about 8 months ago. | |
